The heart is the most important organ in our body. It is the powerhouse of our body without which we won’t be able to survive. Though it is a powerhouse, it is delicate as well and needs proper caring. You need to look after your heart and constantly look forward to its improvement. Here are seven ways with the help of which you will be able to improve your heart:
- Avoid eating take-out snacks, fast food and meals at restaurants and hotels that use with trans fats in preparing their meals. Instead prepare your food at home, pack and take them for your lunch at the office. The benefit is that you exercise better control over the ingredients used and cooking procedure (poaching, grilling, and baking) which no doubt improves your heart health.
- Before you buy any product, make sure that you have read the nutrition panel labeled over there carefully. Avoid food products which contain trans fat. These fats are unhealthy fats which increases the level of cholesterol in blood. It goes even without saying how much cholesterol is harmful to your heart.
- Increase the intake of fruits and vegetables as they are chock-full of heart-healthy fibers and disease-fighting antioxidants. These beneficial fibers and antioxidants help greatly in the improvement of your heart health.
- Maintain and achieve a healthy weight. It has been seen that if you loose 10 pounds in one month that is to say 2.5 pounds per week, your systolic pressure gets reduced by 7 points and diastolic by 6 points. This reduction will improve the functioning of your heart and at the same time would keep heart disease and strokes at bay.
- Try to accelerate your physical activities by at least 15 to 20 minutes per day but the ideal would be 30 minutes of daily exercise. Just modest physical exercise would keep your blood pressure low, weight off and at the same time would reduce the risk of any coronary artery disease.
- Check your alcohol consumption and ensure that it is below the limit where it can cause harm to your heart. Healthy heart means, you stay away from alcohol or if you cannot make sure that you do not cross the limit. Everything or anything in excess is not good.
- Spend some time with your family and find out if anyone of them had any past history of stroke, heart disease and diabetes. Although you won’t be able to change your genes, but this knowledge would help your doctor in planning a better heart improvement plan for you.

Bodybuilding
Bodybuilding is getting more and more popular as it is a discipline which requires strong mental and physical abilities. One of the many advantages of body building is that it is a sport which develops cardio vascular potential while increasing the muscular mass of the individual. Although it was once a sport almost exclusively practiced by men, women are getting interested in body building increasingly. In body building competitions, the contestants are evaluated in their overall appearance and general fitness.
Most bodybuilders are careful about what they eat and tend to favor a diet rich in protein which is required to build muscular mass. Eating properly helps anyone interested in body building to exceed in their discipline while feeling healthy. Most people involved in serious body building will need to increase the amount of their daily calorie ingestion in order to feel good. The daily caloric requirement will increase as the muscular and overall body mass increases.
Bodybuilders need a diet rich in quality proteins. Such quality proteins can be found in lean meat and chicken. Other types of protein include eggs, nuts, and beans. It is usually recommended to eat about 1 to 2 grams of protein per pound of body weight when practicing bodybuilding. Some experts are recommending less protein intake per day. A general rule is that a person undertaking a serious bodybuilding program should feel good and not tired while doing the program. In general, it is recommended to eat proteins about 45 to 60 minutes before a workout and within 1 hour of going to sleep.
Professional bodybuilders agree that hard work is needed to succeed in bodybuilding. Honestly, very few individuals will ever make it professionally in bodybuilding, only the most motivated. When a person involved in bodybuilding tends to get discouraged, she should look at all that she has accomplished rather than what is still to do.
A person doing serious bodybuilding has to expect her weight to increase as muscle is heavier than fat. The overall look of the person will be a better guide. A nice, tight, muscular body is a sure sign that the person is on the right track in bodybuilding.
Teenagers are getting more and more into bodybuilding. They should not get frustrated if when getting slow results while practicing bodybuilding. One has to realize that during teen years, the body is already undergoing major changes. Teenagers should always respect their health signals and avoid overworking while bodybuilding. The y should also acknowledge the fact that the results might be slower than for a regular adult and not give up too soon. Teens will gain strength before they gain size. They will see their muscle increase in size if they persist long enough. A balanced and rich diet is the key to a successful and healthy bodybuilding program. Asthma is a Chronic Medical Condition
There are many chronic medical conditions and it would be literally impossible to cover each and every one of them in one small article. Instead I have decided to expand upon a single issue and that is asthma.
Asthma has become a worldwide problem which knows no age limit. He is found in both children as well as adults. In recent years the condition has been becoming a very serious health concern to medical professionals particularly due to the vast number of increased cases which are causing an alarming rise in children’s afflictions.
For those people who are currently suffering from the effects of asthma they know only too well how this chronic medical condition effects their ability to breath when they experience a flare-up. It become just about impossible for these patients to achieve a normal breathing pattern when their air passages have reacted adversely to any sort of atmospheric change or and other dreaded allergens. These sudden attacks are capable of occurring to even the very best of prepared individuals and can be so severe that death can result.
Those people who suffer from this condition have learned that there are certain ways that they can effectively reduce their risks of asthma attacks by carefully monitoring their condition on a daily basis. The actual frequency of the attacks as well as the severity of them will determine what course of actions and treatment the patient must follow.
Usually treatment falls into one of several major categories. First should be medications which will prevent such attacks from occurring. Second, the treating of those minor attacks which happen and lastly, treating any life threatening situations as they occur.
During the preventive phase each asthma sufferer will be provided with what is called a Bronchodilator. This instrument will provide immediate relief from any minor attack. Many asthma patients have found this to be very sufficient and no other asthmatic medication is generally required.
For those patients who may be experiencing a more serious condition the medical care giver may advise the use of a low dose glucocorticoids or perhaps a mastcell stabilizer. Unless your condition is extremely severe you should not expect your physician to prescribe the use of oral glucocorticoids.
Regardless of the patients severity condition a patients has some sort of medical reliever to help their condition. It is important that the asthma patient be able to quickly assess the various situations which tend to trigger the attacks in order to successfully avoid those particular conditions.
Atmospheric pollution is now believed to be making the asthmatic condition even worse around major cities or industrial areas.
The medications prescribed for asthma will help to prevent or to treat flare-ups but they should be used very sparingly as they bring with them some very serious side effects. As an example, continued and regular use has resulted in fatigue, dizziness, a lack of sex drive, depression or liver damage.
An alternative to this is the use of more natural products that may be recommended for those patients who are suffering from respiratory conditions. These natural products tend to attack the root cause of the problem and not merely cover up the reason for the condition.
